Clavin Brothers Bring Pride To Pat-Med
Nicholas Clavin graduated from Patchogue-Medford H.S. in 1994 and was the winner of the Dante Award in Suffolk County, president of his class for two years, a member of student government, Junior Prom King, and Senior Prom Court member, as well as a member of Varsity Cheerleading, JV Wrestling and Soccer, and the Site-based Management Team. He graduated in the top ten of his class and went to Cornell University in Ithaca as a Presidential Scholar and graduated in 1998-Summa cum Laude. He then went on to Syracuse (S.U.N.Y. Upstate Medical College) graduating as an M.D. with Honors in 2003. He did his internship and residency in surgery at Cornell-Weill Medical Center in Manhattan and a Research Fellowship for two years at Sloan-Kettering Center in Manhattan where he published and presented five papers. In June 2010, after his fifth year of surgical residency, he is scheduled to complete another residency/fellowship in Pediatric Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA Medical Center in California, the best hospital for this specialty in the country. He and his wife Keri are the proud parents of one son, Hudson Parker Clavin, aged two and a half. His favorite teacher at PMHS was his counselor, Ms. Nancy Goldfader.
Patrick Clavin graduated in 1998 from Patchogue-Medford H.S. and was involved in Student Government, J.V. Soccer and Wrestling, Varsity Cheerleading, Prom Court, Italian Honor Society and Site-Based Management. He graduated in the top ten of his class and went to Italy in the spring of his senior year with the Italian Club. Patrick received a BS in Finance from the Boston College's Carroll School of Management in 2002. Pat is a founding partner of Pandion Capital LLC a New York based investment firm that manages several hedge funds. Prior to founding Pandion Capital, Pat served from 2005 to 2008 as the Chief Operating Officer for Greenwich Investment Partners, a long/short US equity hedge fund focused on investments in undervalued securities and other special situations. Pat played an active role in the firm's investment process and was responsible for the firm's trading, technology, and administration. He began his Wall Street career as one of a handful of hires into the Morgan Stanley analyst program directly out of college in 2002. He spent two years working on the fixed income syndicate desk and was afforded the opportunity create, distribute, and analyze a broad spectrum of debt products. He is engaged to be married in August and he and his fiancee Allison will reside in Manhattan after their wedding.
Nick and Pat Clavins' Mother, Bonnie, was a teacher in the P-M school district for many years retiring in 2004 from Eagle Elementary. She and her husband still reside in the P-M community. The entire membership of the PMCT congratulates Nick and Pat on their successful careers and extends them their best wishes along with all P-M graduates in medicine and finance.
